Site Sign-In & Induction Without the Clipboard (or Another App)
You know the sign-in sheet. It lives on a clipboard in the site box. Half the names are unreadable, someone wrote "7ish" as their start time, and on the one day you actually need it, it's gone soggy in the ute.
Then there's the other option: a proper site sign-in app. Great, until you ask fifteen people, including three subbies and a labourer who started yesterday, to download it, make an account and remember a password. Some will. Most won't.
We built ZimQi for exactly that gap.

How the site sign-in app works
Your crew signs in to site from Telegram, on the phone already in their pocket. There's no new app to install and no password to forget.
- Arrive on site. Tap the site name in the ZimQi chat.
- Signed in. Time and site are recorded. If you've turned location on, it's checked once at sign-in, and anything outside the site radius is flagged.
- Leave site. Tap to sign out. If someone forgets, ZimQi sends a nudge instead of you chasing them.
You see who's on which site right now, and who was there last Tuesday, from one screen.
Site induction app: your induction as a Smart Form
You can set up your site induction (site rules, contacts, parking, amenities) as a Smart Form. New workers fill it in on their phone, and the completed form is saved as a PDF in your Google Drive, so you're not hunting for a signed sheet later. What goes in the induction is up to you.
More than a construction site sign-in sheet
Signing in is usually where the paperwork starts, not where it ends. Once your crew is in the ZimQi chat, the same tap can lead into:
- Smart Forms: pre-start checklists, SWMS sign-off, toolbox talk attendance, incident reports and job sheets, filled in on the phone.
- Licence and insurance expiry nudges: reminders 30, 14 and 7 days before a ticket or policy runs out.
- Rosters and sick cover: who's meant to be where, and a quick way to find cover when someone's crook.
- Timesheets: sign-in and sign-out times roll into hours you approve with one tap.
- Your files, your Drive: records land in your own Google Drive (OneDrive and Dropbox coming soon), in folders you can find later.
You don't have to use all of it. Plenty of people start with sign-in only.
Who it suits
- Builders and trades running a few sites at once
- Cleaning companies with crews spread across buildings
- Anyone with subbies or casuals who come and go
If you need a full visitor-management kiosk with badge printing at a big head office, we're honestly not that. ZimQi is for crews in the field.
What it won't do
We'd rather undersell. ZimQi records who signed in, where and when. It doesn't make your site compliant by itself, and it isn't legal or WHS advice. It just makes the record easier to keep and harder to lose.
Try it
The quickest way to see it is to try it. Open ZimQi in Telegram and walk through a sign-in yourself. It takes about a minute.

FAQ
Do my workers need to download an app? No new work app. They use Telegram, or a personal web link that opens in any phone browser.
Can I run site inductions with it? Yes. Set your induction up as a Smart Form and new workers fill it in on their phone. You decide what's in it.
Can subcontractors use it too? Yes. Subbies sign in the same way, and their records stay separate so it's clear who worked where.
What if someone forgets to sign out? ZimQi sends them a reminder. You can also fix the time when you approve it.
Does it track people all day? No. There's no live GPS tracking. If you switch location on, it's shared once at sign-in and once at sign-out.
Where do the records go? They stay in ZimQi and are filed to your own Google Drive (OneDrive and Dropbox coming soon).
Can I use it for SWMS or toolbox talks as well? Yes, with Smart Forms. Crew can fill in a SWMS acknowledgement on the phone right after signing in, and the supervisor records toolbox talk attendance.
