Zemke and the Crew

Checking out comics

Zemke and the Crew strips about checking out.

Three-panel comic. Kev the koala checks out and types the note 'fit-out, plus about 30 min on the gate, guesstimate'; the bot replies '📝 Note saved.' Zemke the emu says 'About' is doing a lot of heavy lifting and asks when Kev actually finished. The chat asks 'What time did you finish today?' with three buttons, one per row: Just now, Earlier and Back. Kev picks Earlier, types his real finish time, and the bot replies '✅ Finish time saved: 4:30 pm (8h 5m).' Sam the platypus says '8h 5m. Not about. Fair. Approved.'

Three-panel comic. At 2:50 pm Kev the koala rehearses an excuse about saving a gate from a possum, in case he forgets to check out. Monty the monkey says it needs more possum. At 2:55 pm the reminder arrives: '🕒 Harbour St ends 15:30. Check out: /checkout 1 <what you did>' with a 🏁 Check out button. Kev taps it and, after the check-out steps, the bot replies '🏁 Checked out. Your approver has the record.' Kev: 'I had a whole speech ready.'

Kev's Excuse Speech

Three-panel comic. Friday 4:55 pm: the owner, Gail, asks Kev the koala where his timesheet is and he guesses it's in the ute or the esky. Zemke the emu searches everywhere and finds nothing. Plot twist: Zemke shows Gail's ZimQi chat, where a message reads '⏳ Kev checked out (6h 35m on Harbour St). Approve when ready.' Gail has already tapped Approve: the buttons are gone, '✅ Approved' sits as a plain line under the message, and a new message follows: '✅ Approved timesheet for Kev.' Gail says 'Approved before knock-off? Righto. Early mark, then.'

Three-panel comic. At 9:14 pm Monty the monkey is still in the site office; the owner reminds him he retired last week. Monty says nobody told him to clock off. Zemke the emu scrolls up to the 2:55 pm reminder: '🕒 Harbour St ends 15:30. Check out: /checkout 1 <what you did>' with a 🏁 Check out button. Monty taps it, and when asked 'What time did you finish today?' (buttons Just now, Earlier and Back, one per row) he picks Earlier: 'Earlier. Much earlier.' After he types his real finish time, the bot replies '✅ Finish time saved: 3:30 pm (7h 35m).'
